Ha! I almost have my first character fully rigged up and ready! Just need to pull a couple things, and then its on to animation tests for him :D
Character design subject to change. Feel free to put in suggestions.
Okay. I would like to start by pointing out that I have taken a couple leaps beyond the pic I posted last time (trust me, the art looks much better now). Did a sh*tload of songs recently for both "Shadowmass" and Kentwood Game Development Club's "Thetabyte." I'll see if I can get some new songs posted.
Seriously, expect Shadowmass to be out by Christmas. I'm actually taking a scriptwriting class at the moment, so that would count as my final project. Almost got the whole plot lined up, and I just need to work on some backgrounds.
That, I admit, is where I believe I'm going to run into the most difficulty with. Not the best at doing perspective work, but I'll try.
On that pessimistic note, I would also like to point out that the first animations will likely seem fluid, but unrealistic. Got $30 software at the moment, but I'm almost to the point where I found all the "secret" shortcuts so making it not turn out as sh*t.
...Now all i need to do is motivate myself :P
I am gettin serious about my animating now. Just got access to a new desktop 5 days a week. Granted, Windows MovieMaker SUCKS but I can edit the animations the other 2 days of the week ^_^
I'm drawing a comic for it, then I'll write out the script, and look for voice actors at school while I animate the parts that don't need lip-synching. After that, though... I'm serious about my writing and a straight-up plot line, so after that I go to outlining the whooole Series 1. That would take about 10 hours of me actually working. Depending on if people say it's going to suck or not, I might end up working diligently or off-and-on.
Aaanyway, back to the realm of the present. Here's a (very) low-res preview of how my animation is going to be. Anime-style, lots of action if I feel up to it. The clipping is from a school project. I'll either edit in a link or make a new post when it's finished and uploaded to youtube. That video would be a sample of how good/bad my animating would be.
I've been fooling around with composing in Marine View Espresso, and I've edited all of my songs to where I think they're pretty much as good as they'll get. Granted, I hardly think they're masterpieces, but they're not nearly as crappy as they were without editing :P
Also, I have created the Shadowmass logo and the symbol for "shadow" is now going to be around... but I honestly don't know how to change the logo for my previous songs so i guess I'm kinda screwed there :P
